This is the privacy policy of InterPrac Finance Services Pty Ltd (ABN 17 097 418 196) trading as InterPrac. InterPrac is subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and its 2000 amendment (" Privacy Act "). InterPrac understands and appreciates how important it is to safeguard your personal information. This privacy policy explains how your personal information will be dealt with by InterPrac.
What type of personal information do we collect?
InterPrac collects personal information that is necessary to assess applications for credit and applications for leases such as novated leases, operating and finance leases made by you to InterPrac. We also collect personal information in order to enable us to respond to feedback or a request for information by you. The type of personal information we collect will depend on the purpose for which information is collected. Examples of personal information that we may collect include your:
- name, street address, date of birth, driver's licence number;
- company name, company division, title, employee number, phone / fax numbers, email address;
- bank account number and credit card details, details of your income, assets, liabilities and expenses, credit history and credit worthiness;
- other information as required by the Anti-Money Laundering Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006.
How do we collect your personal information?
When we collect your personal information, we will tell you why we are collecting your information and the classes of third parties with whom we may share that information. We will also inform you of any consequences if that information, or part of that information, is not provided to us. If you forward information to us electronically or as a hard copy document, we will collect this information and use it for the purposes for which you have provided it to us. When you visit our website at www.interpracfleet.com.au or www.interprac.com.au we do not use cookies to collect personal information.
How do we manage your personal information?
InterPrac is committed to educating its employees in the proper management of your personal information. We will take all reasonable commercial steps to ensure that all information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete, up-to-date and stored in a secure environment accessed only by authorised persons. We will, where commercially practicable and permitted by law, destroy or permanently de-identify personal information that is no longer required.
Will your personal information be disclosed to a third party?
The personal information we collect is strictly confidential. We will not disclose that information to any third parties without first obtaining your consent with the exception of the following:
- related bodies corporate in relation to lease or credit applications made by you to InterPrac;
- Motor vehicle dealers in relation to credit or lease applications made by you to InterPrac;
- The relevant State Motor Authority in relation to motor vehicle registrations;
- Guarantors and prospective guarantors in relation to applications for credit or lease applications made by you to InterPrac;
- Fuel companies to enable those companies to properly record fuel purchases by you;
- Motor vehicle insurers nominated by you in relation to any motor vehicle leased to you by InterPrac including information about any application for a lease made by you to InterPrac and your performance under your lease;
- InterPrac's insurers;
- Aussie Fleet Management and Fleet Choice Australia; and
- Federal or state authorities as prescribed by the law.
Security of your personal information
We have implemented procedures and systems designed to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration or destruction including password protected computer files and Secure Socket Layer ("SSL") technology. When using our website, you acknowledge that no data transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We strive to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. However, you acknowledge that we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us over the internet. Once we receive your transmission, we will take reasonable commercial steps to ensure its security. We provide access to other websites by way of hyperlinks from our website. Those websites are not subject to InterPrac's privacy policy. You should make your own enquiries as to the privacy standards for any linked website.
How you can access your personal information
You may have access to the personal information we hold on your behalf on request, except in circumstances where access may be denied under the Privacy Act or other law. Such circumstances include:
- where providing access will pose an unreasonable impact on the privacy of an individual;
- your request for access is frivolous or vexatious;
- where the information relates to existing legal proceedings between InterPrac and you and the information would not be discoverable in the process of those legal proceedings; or
- where providing access would be unlawful, may prejudice an investigation of possible unlawful activity, may prejudice enforcement of laws or denying access is authorised by law.
To make a request for your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer in writing whose contact details are set out at the end of this privacy policy. We will endeavour to respond to a request for personal information within 14 days. If we provide your personal information to you in response to your request, we may charge a fee for costs incurred in providing that information including photocopying, administration and postage. If we deny you access to your personal information, we will provide you with reasons for our decision.
How you can correct your personal information
If you believe that the personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete or not up-to-date please let us know. If we agree with you, we will correct it. If not, we will let you know. In these circumstances, you can provide us with a statement which sets out your version of the facts and we will place it on file with the material you assert is incorrect.
Will this privacy policy change?
We reserve the right to change this privacy policy at any time by publishing the varied privacy policy on our website. The varied terms will apply from the date they are posted on our website. You accept that by doing this, InterPrac has provided you with sufficient notice of the variation.
